Bernard Yannou, Ph.D., is University Professor of Design Engineering and Director of the Industrial Engineering Laboratory (LGI) at CentraleSupélec. His teaching and research focus on design engineering and innovation, and in particular on innovative design processes, R&D strategy and organization, design automation, complex systems design, and sustainable design.

He has supervised 28 PhD theses, most of them in industry, and has 4 in progress. He has participated in the writing of more than 400 refereed scientific articles and coordinated 10 books on industrial design and innovation. In teaching, he is in charge of the Design Science course and the course on Innovation in complex systems in the 2nd year, as well as the course on Strategy and Processes for the Development of Value Offerings and Innovation Engineering in the 3rd year at CentraleSupélec.

Bernard Yannou is a member of the Advisory Board of the Design Society and is a member of the editorial board of 3 international journals: Design Science Journal (DSJ), Research in Engineering Design (RED), International Journal of Design Creativity and Innovation (IJDCI). He is an expert for the ANR (expertise of ANR projects and young researchers), the ANRT (expertise of CIFRE subjects) and the High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education HCERES (expertise of masters and laboratories).
